About Helen
| Course Presenter Helen Botham has worked as a Speech and Language Therapist for forty years,
in the UK and Australia. Her particular interest has been in speech and language problems associated with
literacy difficulties. She has worked for education and health authorities in the UK, providing intensive
individual therapy programs, and also consulting with and advising parents, teachers and carers. She
has been running Cued Articulation courses for pre-school and school teachers throughout Australia, and
in New Zealand, Malaysia and the UAE for the last twenty years. Helen has just been awarded a Master of Applied Science from La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. She investigated outcomes for teachers attending a Cued Articulation course. She was interested to know whether their attendance can improve the phonological and letter-sound awareness required by teachers of reading. See Research |
